Geeks take competition by the horns

Members of Team 4 Sc Alpha 2 (third from left) Chan Kah Kin, Tay Jenn Lin, Woon Li Qi, Jacey Hen Hue Tyng and Alwyn Yip Winn Sheng from SMK Seri Bintang (Utara), Kuala Lumpur, jump for joy when they find out that they have been shortlisted as finalists in the Tale Spin 2014 storyboarding contest. Looking on are school contest coordinator Nina Rani Joshi (far left), supervising teacher Shahdrina Saharudin (second from left) and senior assistant (academic) Zuraimah Amran (far right).

PETALING JAYA: Who would have thought that a picture of a horn with five students geeking out would have its rewards.

“We were just messing around,” said Alwyn Yip Winn Sheng, whose witty storyboard was sent to The Star’s annual Newspaper-in-Education contest.
