SHAH ALAM: A newborn baby boy was found alive in a paper bag at the main entrance of a construction project here on Sunday.
Police chief ACP Azisman Alias said there was no identification papers or note left with the baby, which still had its umbilical cord intact.
The fair-skinned baby was found by construction workers at about 11.30am and was suspected to have been recently abandoned, he said.
"The baby was in perfect condition and wrapped in a red towel when found. We are still checking the age," ACP Azisman said. The baby is now at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
He said police received a report of the incident at about 11.45am and did not discount the possibility that the baby had been placed at the main entrance as the factory is locked every Sunday.
He urged members of the public with information to assist in the investigation. - Bernama
