NUSAJAYA: Darth Vader and Yoda will make their appearance in a galaxy not too far away, in the not
too distant future – specifically at Legoland Malaysia’s Star Wars Miniland theme park here next month.
Joining them will be C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Darth Maul and many more.
According to Legoland Malaysia master builder Stefan Bentivoglio, more than 1.5 million pieces of Lego bricks were used to construct the Star Wars characters and space ships.
He said about 60 Lego builders were currently in the theme park, with 40 of them directly responsible for constructing over 2,000 Lego Star Wars models, including three life-sized models of Darth Vader, C-3PO, and R2-D2.
“This is a massive project for us, as some of the models were shipped here from Germany and Czech Republic, while others were built at Legoland Malaysia.
The Star Wars Miniland will be housed in a standalone octagon building that recreates seven of the most famous scenes from Episodes One to Six.
Legoland Malaysia Resort general manager Mark Germyn said the exhibit would open on Sept 6 in conjunction with the resort’s second anniversary.
