‘Stalemate in Pakatan hurting Selangor’

SEMENYIH: Pakatan Rakyat has reached a stalemate in the Selangor Mentri Besar fiasco and must not prolong the situation as it is hampering the state’s development, says MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

“We can see that Pakatan is more interested in attacking Barisan Nasional and in its internal squabbles for positions that they have forgotten their responsibilities to the people of Selangor,” he said after attending the Nirvana Memorial Garden’s enlightenment ceremony here yesterday.

Reiterating his call for fresh polls in the state, Liow said the situation had reached a point of no return as Pakatan was unable to solve the stalemate.

“If they can’t solve it, then they have to return the power to the people to decide and call for elections in Selangor,” added the Transport Minister.

In Pontian, MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong asked why Pakatan Rakyat chose to reveal the negative elements of Khalid’s administration now and not earlier.

“I myself feel puzzled because during Pakatan’s recent Kajang Move, Opposition leaders sang praises of Khalid, saying that he was an efficient and hardworking leader,” said Dr Wee.

“Now that there is a crisis in the coalition, the Opposition leaders have changed their tune and are taking turns at pointing fingers and criticising Khalid,” he said.

“My question is why now? Were all these problems seen as non-existent if there was no crisis in the Selangor leadership?” asked Dr Wee after his visit to Kampung Baru Ayer Baloi here yesterday.

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department was referring to the revelations by Pandan MP and PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli who accused Khalid of being corrupt.

Dr Wee said this showed that it had always been Pakatan’s style to push blame onto one person to the point where he had to step down whenever a crisis arose.
