AN eight-year-old girl died in a freak accident after her head got stuck in
a window grille at her house in Kampung Losong Feri, Kuala Terengganu, reported Sinar Harian.
Nurliana Nabila Mazlan, a Year Two student from SK Losong, was found dangling by her neck on Thursday by her neighbour.
She was believed to have attempted to get out of her room through the window as the door was locked.
The neighbour alerted the girl’s brother and they managed to free her before the Fire and Rescue Department personnel arrived.
The girl was immediately rushed to Sultanah Nur Zahirah hospital but was pronounced dead at 5.30pm on the same day.
> Three friends of jazz and soul singer Noryn Aziz (pic) were robbed in front of the singer’s house in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday night, reported Harian Metro.
The friends, including Eja or Siti Shahrizah Saifuddin, were just leaving after visiting with Noryn when they were waylaid by four men with parang.
“I was just getting into the house after sending my friends off when I heard someone shout ‘Allahhu akbar’.
“I thought there was an accident but when I came out again, I saw my friends being robbed by four men with parang,” said the wife of Kuala Terengganu MP Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad.
She said her friends however managed to run back into her house and locked the door.
“The robbers followed us and knocked on the door, but later left,” she said, adding that her friends’ losses were valued at RM30,000.
Noryn, whose real name is Norazmahwati Abdul Aziz, 38, lodged a police report at the Jalan Travers police station.
It is understood that the singer’s neighbour was also robbed on the same night.
