PETALING JAYA: PAS may initiate a movement to support embattled Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, says the party’s Syura Council member Nasrudin Hassan.
“If Khalid is ousted by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from his MB seat, it is appropriate that PAS, led by Datuk Seri Hadi Awang, rise up to defend Khalid who is being oppressed and humiliated,” he said on his Facebook page.
Nasrudin said such a show of defiance, labelled Gerak 2.0, should take the form similar to the one in support of Anwar when he was sacked as deputy prime minister in 1998.
“Do we merely view it as an internal PKR matter and that the rakyat need not rise to defend Khalid?” he asked, saying that it was now Khalid who is being persecuted and being forcibly removed from office.
In another posting, Nasrudin, who is also PAS central committee member, defended Khalid over the proposed Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project.
He said many were unaware that Kidex was a federal government project that the Selangor state government had no say on. He drew parallels between the Kidex project and the proposed Penang Tunnel project as an example of Pakatan Rakyat’s double standards.
“I find it odd why Khalid is being heavily criticised for a project he has no power over. However, this does not happen to the Penang administration under Lim (Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng),” he added.
He said the tunnel project was given the green light despite Penang’s RM255.4mil budget deficit.
“Where are the voices of Pakatan leaders in chastising Lim’s attitude?” he asked.
That, in turn, riled up Lim, who said it was an unjustified attack against him and that he would answer at a press conference today.
