PETALING JAYA: Don’t sit on it if you have delayed in taking part in the Win with Words contest. The fourth and final series of the word game starts today.
Series Four, which wraps up the campaign on Aug 17, requires participants to make “N” words (the first three series featured “S”, “B” and “E”).
So it’s not too late to try your luck at snagging over RM30,000 allocated for 28 wordsmiths or lucky winners in each series. Among the prizes, the top three scorers will clinch RM10,000, RM6,000 and RM3,000 while five consolation winners get RM1,000 each.
After the four rounds are over, there’s still the grand finale to go, where two cars – a Peugeot 508 Premium and a Peugeot 208 – lead the prizes galore that includes cash amounting to RM14,000.
Organised by The Star as appreciation of its dedicated readers and celebration of Malaysia’s 57th National Day, Win with Words has been going on since June 23 and spanning over four series of a fortnight each. It is partnered by Hong Leong Bank and Naza Group of Companies’ subsidiary Nasim Sdn Bhd, distributor of Peugeot vehicles in the country.
The competition has proven to be popular among Malaysians of different ages. It’s a challenge that not only tests your word skills but improves your vocabulary while being a fun and fruitful pursuit for participants and their families.
It’s a pretty easy game where all you have to do is cut out and collect letters of the alphabet printed in The Star every day, create three words for each entry and send in your submission.
But numbers count. So not only high-scoring words will enhance your bid to win, the more entries you send in the higher your accumulated points and the better your chance of grabbing one of the many cash prizes.
New subscribers who sign up at the Win with Words roadshow for The Star Bundle, comprising a one-year subscription of the printed newspaper and ePaper plus eflavours, are entitled to an additional 100 points.
You can also earn an extra 100 points for the contest when you open an account of at least RM1,000 with Hong Leong Bank, in which you will also enjoy a half-year subscription of The Star ePaper.

This Wednesday, winners of the second series will be unveiled in The Star, so watch out for the story!
