Only 10 areas record "moderate" API at noon

This is a drop from the 14 areas recorded at 9am today.

The Department of Environment (DOE) said Seberang Jaya 2 and Samarahan recorded the highest reading of 67 followed by Port Klang and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang with 65.

The others were Perai (62), Kg Air Putih, Taiping and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (61), Alor Setar (58), Kuching (57) and Miri (55).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.

The public can refer to the DOE portal at http://www.doe.gov.my to find out the API reading for their areas. - Bernama
