MOVED by the plight of a young destitute woman who was sexually assaulted, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa extended a cash assistance of Rs500,000 (RM26,392) and gave her a government job, reported Tamil Nesan.
The woman from Periyakulam in Theni district had appealed to the Chief Minister for assistance after she was raped in February.
