KUALA LUMPUR: Many city folk made a beeline to various government departments to renew their documents, not realising that most of the counters are not open due to the Hari Raya break.

A check by The Star at the Immigration Department in Jalan Duta found that of the 26 counters, only six were open as most of the staff were on leave.
