MH17: Pro-Russian rebels most probably shot down plane, says political scientist

PETALING JAYA: Flight MH17 was most likely shot down by pro-Russian rebels who came under intense pressure from the Ukrainian army, according to a political scientist.

Assoc Prof Dr Lukasz Fyderek of Universiti Utara Malaysia said for the past two weeks, the Ukrainian army had been gaining ground on the rebels and had retaken the cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk due to their air superiority.
