KUALA LUMPUR: The 222 MPs are expected to put aside their political differences when an emergency Parliament session convenes on Wednesday. They would show solidarity with Malaysians in condemning the inhumane act on flight MH17. JOHOR BARU: Tebrau MP Khoo Soo Siang has appealed to social media users not to run the country down in the wake of the MH17 tragedy. He said it was “appalling” that there were netizens who blamed the Government and Malaysia Airlines for the mishap. “It is sad as some of these people are our Malaysian friends,” Khoo said.
Media centre closed for now
SEPANG: The Information Department’s media centre operations for the MH17 tragedy at the Sama-Sama Hotel has been closed until further notice. According to a statement from the department, the centre was closed at midnight yesterday as there was no press conference or briefing. — Bernama
Jakim reps in Ukraine for burials
PETALING JAYA: Ten representatives from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia have left for Ukraine to help prepare bodies of victims for burial. They were led by the Grand Imam of Masjid Putra in Putrajaya.
