JOHOR BARU: Police have clamped down on gambling syndicates that took in a total of RM5.3mil in bets on the just-concluded FIFA World Cup 2014.
Johor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said 1,147 people were checked during 435 raids under Ops Soga from June 13 to July 15.
