PUTRAJAYA: A month-long operation has been launched to increase surveillance along three coastlines identified as entry hotspots for illegals to prevent more ferry deaths during Ramadan.
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) stepped up their efforts under Ops Tumpas following the sinking of two tongkang ferries off Kuala Langat and Sepang last month which killed dozens.
