Timber camp worker slashes wife twice his age to death over 'affair'

SIBU: A 23-year-old timber camp worker slashed his wife who is almost twice his age to death with a knife after suspecting her of having an affair.

Sibu District Police chief ACP Mohd Kamal Kordi said the incident happened at 1.30pm on Friday at their flat at the Sibu Jaya Housing estate, about half hour drive from the town.

He said the suspect arrived home and demanded that his 52-year-old wife to hand her handphone over to him.

He believed she was having an affair with another man while he was outstation.

The victim refused to hand over her handphone to the suspect and this caused him to become furious.
