PETALING JAYA: The alleged sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman by a Malaysian diplomat in Wellington has sparked off a debate in New Zealand, with cries that he be brought back to face charges there.
The New Zealand Herald quoted Prime Minister John Key as saying that although the country was bound by the Vienna Convention with regards to the diplomat’s immunity from prosecution, he expected the man “to face the consequences for his actions”.
