Major damage: The car after being hit by the metal beam at the LRT expansion project site along Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang.
SUBANG JAYA: A driver and his passenger were seriously injured when a metal beam fell on the car they were travelling in along Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang.
The incident occurred at about 9am yesterday near Wisma Glomac, where the LRT expansion project is being carried out along the road.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the beam being hoisted by a crane crashed onto the car.
“A van then knocked into the car,” he said, adding that the man and woman in the car suffered multiple injuries and were taken to the Sime Darby Medical Centre.
The crane was hoisting metal beams for construction of a support structure. ACP Azmi said the driver of the van escaped unhurt.
