KUALA LUMPUR: A former DAP member has submitted a letter to the party’s headquarters on behalf of his non-governmental organisation, urging it to take immediate action against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok over alleged misuse of funds, among others.
In the letter, Tony Tan, Kok’s former personal assistant who left the party in 2007, called on DAP acting chairman Tan Kok Wai to fire Kok and get her to vacate her seat.
“We have lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Feb 11 and with the police last month,” said Tan, who is Pertubuhan Minda & Sosial Prihatin’s (PMSP) misuse of power bureau head. PMSP president Ramesh Rao, who submitted the letter with Tan, said action should be taken against Kok for allegedly misusing public funds, allegedly withdrawing party money without permission and for purportedly threatening and suing witnesses.
“We call on DAP to take immediate action. We have given MACC the necessary evidence,” he added.
Kok, who refuted allegations by Tan in February, said she was immune to his attacks.
“It is not worth wasting time to respond to a man with no credibility,” she said.
