KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Simunul, Kampung Bangau Bangau, Pulau Denawan and Kampung Labuan Haji – these are among the water villages in Semporna that serve as hideouts for the kidnap-for-ransom group, according to an Esscom (Sabah Eastern Security Command) officer.
“They can easily slip in from southern Philippines and lie low in these water villages,” he said.
