Bid to boost number of bumiputra accountants


KUALA LUMPUR: Only 8% or 1,554 of the country’s 7,363 bumiputra accountants have professional qualifications – a figure which is too low, according to the Government.

“We hope to increase the number of professional bumiputra accoun­tants from 8% to 25% by 2020,” said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who chaired the Bumiputra Economic Council meeting at Parliament House.
