Spit into the Ganges or litter the holy river and face three years in jail

THE Indian government is mulling a new law to punish those who throw garbage or spit into the Ganges River, Tamil Nesan reported.

Those found guilty would likely be put behind bars for up to three years or fined up to Rs10,000 (RM547).
