HARIAN Metro reported that two leeches found their way into a 12-year-old's stomach through his anus when he bathed in a ditch near a school.Yahya Musa, a student of SK Seri Bandi II, near Kemasik, Terengganu, was bathing in the waterway with his friends when he felt his stomach starting to hurt.
“I had just been in the water for about 10 minutes and saw blood coming from my anus,” he said of the Monday 3pm incident.
Yahya’s parents immediately took him to a clinic, and he was then referred to the Kemaman Hospital.
His mother, Fuziah Salleh, 38, said a doctor immediately gave Yahya painkillers and saline solution.
Two leeches were later found in his faeces.
X-rays on Yahya revealed no internal bleeding and he was discharged on Thursday.
> A woman came to know about her husband’s death as she passed the scene of his accident, reported Sinar Harian.
In the 8.30am incident on Thursday, Mohd Nazry Saion, 33, was on his way to work when his motorcycle hit a Naza Sorento on the Kesas Expressway.
He was thrown off his motorcycle and died on the spot.
His body was still at the scene when his wife, Nor Hafizah Adnan, drove past and noticed that a red jacket near the covered up body looked similar to the one her husband wore.
She stopped and alighted from her car to view the body and when she realised it was her husband, she became emotional and had to be comforted by passers-by.
Nazry’s cousin, Shahrizal Mohd Fadzil, 28, said Nazry usually left for work earlier than his wife but both used the same route to work.
Nazry’s body was buried in Johor the same day.
