'Fuel subsidy plan too harsh'

KUALA LUMPUR: A proposal to restructure the fuel subsidy is too harsh on the people, said MCA vice-president Datuk Chua Tee Yong.

He said the people – especially the lower and middle income group, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – were still trying to cope with inflation caused by the 20 sen increase in fuel prices last year and the 15% hike in electricity tariff this year.
