KOTA KINABALU: Three-year-old Low Min You is still missing without a trace nearly a month after he vanished under mysterious circumstances in an alleged carjacking.
Amid contradictions in the statements given by his 31-year-old father, Low Yee Sheng, over the events leading to the disappearance on May 9, police have yet to get any positive leads on the whereabouts of the child.
“Our investigations are still on, (as of now) we have no fresh leads to narrow down the boy’s whereabouts,” city deputy police chief Supt M. Chandra said yesterday.
He said police were still calling on the public or family members who have any information on the missing boy to come forward.
On May 9, Yee Sheng lodged a police report claiming that his four-wheel drive vehicle, where his son was purportedly sleeping in, was stolen when he stopped outside a petrol kiosk at Kampung Air in the city to use the toilet at 5.50am that day.
The vehicle was later found abandoned about 2.5km away.
