IPOH: A motorist died when his MPV crashed head-on with an express bus at the 371st kilometre of the North-South Expressway near Slim River.
The express bus, which was carrying nine passengers, was heading towards Ipoh from KL International Airport at about 10am yesterday, Tanjung Malim OCPD Supt Othman Nayan said.
“The MPV, which was travelling south on the opposite lane, lost control and crashed into the road divider.
“The impact of the crash caused the MPV to overturn into the opposite lane and it was rammed by the oncoming bus,” he said.
The MPV driver, Jailani Din, 44, was trapped in his vehicle and suffered severe head and body injuries.
“He died on the spot,” said Supt Othman.
The bus driver and passengers were unhurt.
