Terengganu PAS: We never offered "problematic" Ahmad Said anything

“We (PAS) never met Ahmad Said or offered him anything. That’s a lie. If there was any sort of negotiations, I would have been in charge of it as state commissioner.

“He is problematic and would be a liability if he joined us,” said Satiful.

Ajil assemblyman Ghazali Taib and Bukit Besi assemblyman Roslee Daud had followed Ahmad Said in tendering their resignations from the party, sparking a crisis as Barisan Nasional's minority government had only 14 seats to Pakatan Rakyat’s 15 seat in the 32-seat assembly.

Ghazali and Roslee have also now retracted their resignations.

Satiful said the shakiness of the state Barisan would be an advantage for Pakatan in the next general election.

Asked if Pakatan would take advantage of the slim majority by mooting a vote of no confidence in the next assembly sitting, Satiful said it “will be discuss”.

“We do not dismiss the possibility... but we have to assess the situation first,” said Satiful.

It is understood that Ahmad Said was asked to leave the mentri besar's post following his state’s poor performance in the general election, but was allowed to stay on for another year.
