SHAH ALAM: Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Samah Mat (pic) is the new top cop for Selangor, following the retirement of current state chief Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan.
The 57-year-old crime buster, with vast experience in CID matters, said his priority would be towards improving public safety and crime prevention.
“There is no time to waste as my focus will be on reducing the crime rate and enhancing public safety.
“I look forward to working closely with all segments of society in combating crime,” he said after the handing over ceremony at the state police headquarters here yesterday.
Bukit Aman Management director Comm Datuk Mohamad Fuzi Harun witnessed the ceremony.
