NEW YORK: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, who is visiting here from May 18, is expected to give a major push for Malaysia’s bid to be given a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) next year.
“Malaysia’s candidature has been made easier with the Asia-Pacific group’s endorsement and so far, we are the sole candidate from Asia contesting for a non-permanent UNSC seat,” said Malaysia’s permanent representative to the UN Datuk Hussein Haniff.
