PETALING JAYA: A 21-year-old air-conditioning (AC) repairman was instantly killed after falling from a height of two storeys while fixing an AC unit in Taipan (USJ 10), Subang Jaya.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the victim, identified as Sarawakian Lai Kiang Bin (pic) was fixing an AC unit with another colleague when he accidentally plunged to his death at around 1.40pm Saturday.
"He was pronounced dead on the spot by medical personnel from University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), where he was later sent for an autopsy," he said.
ACP Yahaya said no foul play has been detected in Lai's death thus far.
"The case has been classified as sudden death," he added.
Lai's distraught family members were unavailable for a comment when met at UMMC on Sunday.
A bereaved female relative wailed "Ah Bin! Ah Bin!" repeatedly as crying family members tried to calm her down.
It is believed that Lai's body will be sent to Miri after the post-mortem.
