Cops confirm Indonesian man's demise on AirAsia X flight due to sudden death

PUTRAJAYA: Police confirmed that the passenger who died on AirAsia X flight D7171 en route from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur last night was a male Indonesian senior citizen.

Sepang OCPD, Supt Mohd Yusof Awang said the 64-year-old man had transited at KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2).

"Based on the post-mortem report, police found no criminal element involved. Police have classified it as sudden death," he said when contacted by Bernama, here Saturday.

AirAsia X Berhad, in a statement, said that the flight D7171 departed from the Jeddah International Airport at 8.30pm local time and landed at the KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at 10.30pm Friday. - Bernama
