River barrage to help Pasir Mas padi farmers

KOTA BARU: The completion of the RM13mil mini-barrage across the Kelantan River at Kampung Kemubu will make it much easier for the Federal Government to irrigate 24,000ha of padi land in the Pasir Mas area.

The rice fields come under the jurisdiction of the Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority (Kada), an agency chaired by Kok Lanas assemblyman Datuk Md Alwi Che Ahmad that reports to the Agriculture Ministry.
