College gets RM100,000 from late board director


JOHOR BARU: The family of the late Johor Baru Tiong-Hua Association president Datuk Tan Liang Soong (pic) has donated RM100,000 in his name to the state’s own Southern University College (Southern UC) for campus development.

Tan, 62, who was also deputy chairman of Southern UC’s board of directors, had for the past decade played a key role in its progress, including helping to turn it into a university college from its humble beginnings as the Southern College and operating out of Foon Yew High School here.
