PETALING JAYA: Students with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualifications or its equivalent, who applied for entry into public universities (IPTA) and premier polytechnics, can check their application status from noon Saturday.

The Education Ministry in a statement said they can check and print their offer letters via the official websites of the respective institutions or at http://upu.moe.gov.my from May 11.

Students may also check their status via SMS by typing UPU RESULT (MyKad number) and sending it to 15888.

Successful candidates have to accept the offer by May 17 via the official websites of the respective institutions.

Registration for new students is from May 18 to June 29, depending on the respective institutions.

All offers made are final. No changing of courses within the institution or between institutions are allowed.

Only those who failed to obtain any offer to IPTAs or premier polytechnics are allowed to appeal via the e-Rayuan from May 16 onwards.

Appeals can be made at http://upu.moe.gov.my before the May 26 deadline.

The result of appeals will be announced in the second week of June.

If students do not receive any offers from IPTAs or polytechnics within four weeks of the respective institutions’ registration dates, it would mean their appeals were not successful.

An enquiry counter will be opened at Bangunan Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, Aras Tanah, No.2, Menara 2, Jalan P5/6, Presint 5, Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan, 62200 Putrajaya from May 12 until May 26 from 9.30am to 5pm (Monday to Friday).

For more information, call the ministry’s hotlines at 03-8870 6767 or 03-8870 6777.
