KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public, who saw a motorcyclist being robbed by three men along the Penchala Link near Taman Tun Dr Ismail, chased after the suspects in their car all the way to Damansara Perdana.

The commotion caught the attention of a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit, which intercepted the suspects and arrested one of them.

Brickfields OCPD ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said that at around 3pm Thursday, the victim, a money changer who was transporting cash, was riding his motorcycle towards Sri Hartamas when the suspects in a Proton Waja rammed into him.

“The men alighted from their car and were brandishing parang. They grabbed his bag, which contained the money, and his gun.

"As they sped off, members of the public who saw the incident gave chase. At Damansara Perdana, the MPV unit noticed the commotion and stopped the car.

"One suspect was arrested while the others escaped with the money. The gun they stole was also recovered," ACP Muhammad Azlee said.
