KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard was charged in a Magistrate's Court on Monday with murdering fellow security guard last Tuesday.
Muhammad Azry Muhammad Yusoff was accused of killing and causing the death of Mohd Johar Abu Hassan, 30, in a unit at Abdullah Hukum Flat, Jalan Bangsar here between 6.30am and 8am on Apr 22.
Muhammad Azry, 34, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory death sentence, if convicted.
No plea was recorded and no bail was allowed.
Deputy public prosecutor Nor Diana Nor Azwa had asked for a mention date pending forensic report.
Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin then fixed June 30 for mention.
Muhammad Azry was unrepresented.
It was reported on Apr 22 that a 30-year-old security guard was stabbed to death in a flat at Kampung Abdullah Hukum.
Brickfields district deputy police chief Supt Aida Abdul Hamid said the body was discovered face down in the hall.
Supt Aida said the victim was stabbed by his assailant whom we believed to be one of his housemate.
