IPOH: The driver of the lorry involved in the fatal accident involving Karpal Singh said he was not aware the veteran lawyer and politician was in the Toyota Alphard.
"I did not know it was Karpal. "When I was told about it, he was unconscious and part of his face was covered in blood," Abu Mansor Mohd, 45, said.
Abu Mansor said he had only found out about it later when told by some drivers at the accident site.
Abu Mansor said he was driving uphill prior to the accident, and as a result, could not go fast.
"I heard a loud thud on the side. I got down from my lorry to check and was shocked to see the badly mangled vehicle," he said.
"I did try to help, but I could not do much and help arrived later," he added.
