KUCHING: It was a frightening few minutes for two brothers when robbers broke into their home in Mile 4 Jalan Penrissen.

Speaking from a hospital bed, the younger sibling, 48, who had seven stitches to his head wound, said it was about midnight Sunday when he heard the dog barking at his Taman Hin Yu house.

“I didn’t bother to check because I didn’t think much of the barking,” said the man who did not want to be named.

“Then around 1am, I heard noises coming from the living room.

“I went downstairs, switched on the light and saw a stranger wearing a cap and holding a chopper.

“I ran back upstairs with the robber right behind me.

“Then I saw my elder brother with a golf club in his hands. I thought here was help, but I was wrong because no sooner another person appeared.

"We surrendered and begged them not to hurt us,” he said.

He said he and his 67-year-old brother were tied with a mobile phone charger cable.

While one of the robbers stood guard over them, the other ransacked their home and took a RM10,000 gold necklace, a pendant, RM300 in cash, Ipad and two mobile phones.

Having taken what they could get, the robbers untied the brothers and asked for the key to their Proton Exora car.

Once they had the key, they tied the brothers again, this time to a chair in the living room, and left.

The brothers managed to untie themselves and sought help from neighbours who sent them to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.

A police report has been lodged.
