THE Home Ministry will report on the high number of tuberculosis (TB) cases among inmates in prisons, particularly Kajang Prison, says Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

“Following discussions with Suhakam (Human Rights Commission of Malaysia) last month, it will prepare a detailed report on the matter,” he told Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (PKR-Bukit Katil), who claimed that 88% of the inmates in Kajang Prison were infected with tuberculosis, a contagious airborne disease which is still posing a major health problem worldwide.
