KUALA LUMPUR: China feels no anger towards Malaysia despite reports that relatives of Chinese passengers on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 are angry with the Malaysian Government.
"The Chinese government never said that we were angry with the Malaysian Government. In fact... I am very satisfied and happy over details of operating procedures provided," said its ambassador to Malaysia Huang Huikang.
He insisted that China-Malaysia ties were still strong and it was a good time to enhance ties by working together to find the missing plane.
At a meeting at Putrajaya this morning, Huang said that family members of passengers were briefed in detail over the series of events that occurred since the flight's disappearance.
Also in attendance were high-level officials from China, Australia and Malaysia.
He added none of the family members expressed any frustration towards the authorities.
"Irresponsible western media reports spread rumours that were untrue, trying to create tension between China and Malaysia. This is disrespectful towards family members of the passengers," Huang added.
With this year the 40th anniversary of China-Malaysia bilateral relations, Huang assured that plans to strengthen ties would go on as planned.
"China-Malaysia ties will not be affected by the disappearance of flight MH370. We will remember the forty years of ties between both parties and we will take this opportunity to enhance it through various activities," he said.
Huang also said that the search and rescue effort has been China's largest-ever international operation, and were planning to deploy another five more vessels in the search.
