KUALA LUMPUR: Property developers and buyers now have more choices as the country’s premier property expo – Starproperty Fair 2014 – is being held at five venues in the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang this year.
The Star Media Group will be leveraging on its various platforms to offer media solutions to exhibitors and visitors at the fairs.
The fair will be held at the Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam, from May 30 to June 1, Gurney Plaza and G. Hotel, Penang, from July 24 to 27, City Square Mall, Johor Baru, from Sept 12 to 14, Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya, from Oct 17 to 19, and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Nov 21 to 23.
There will be 2,961 sq m of booth space available in the Klang Valley venues, of which 70% has been sold.
The Star Media Group general manager of digital, Timothy Hor, said the acquisition of the Propwall property website last year provided developers and property agents with a new platform to market their products.
“We are not just a property fair organiser but have multiple media platforms at our disposal to reach out to the right target audience to clinch quality leads for the developers,” he said.
“As the country’s leading media group, with the number one English newspaper, and the number one news portal, The Star Online at over 3.5 million unique visitors monthly, we are in a position to tap into this massive reach to drive the right traffic to our property fairs,” said Hor.
The group’s digital assets also include StarProperty.my, iBilik, myStarjob.com, StarMotoring, Carsifu and mStar, the Malay language website, attracting over five million unique visitors a month.
The Star Radio Group, which includes the country’s leading Chinese radio station 98.8FM, and Red Tomato, the free Chinese newspaper with a circulation of 220,000 copies weekly, will also be involved in the promotion.
One of the biggest exhibitors this year, Mah Sing Properties Sdn Bhd’s chief operating officer Teh Heng Chong said the current softening in the property market after the Government’s cooling measures was a challenge to developers.
