BEIJING: The search for Flight MH370 was not impeded by the non-disclosure of certain information to the public, said RMAF air operations commander Lt General Datuk Seri Ackbal Abdul Samad.
He said the search and rescue operations were activated on the very first day the Malaysia Airlines plane went missing on March 8.
"Satellite search with a country, which I cannot disclose, begun on the second or third day.
"We also started to search both the eastern and western side (of the peninsula) on the first day as well," Ackbal told families of passengers here on Friday as part of the high-level team sent by the Malaysian government to update the family members on the latest situation surrounding MH370.
