IN OUR report headlined “Bar: Karpal stays as lawyer despite conviction” dated March 12, Malaysian Bar president Christopher Leong should have been quoted as saying: “We support the submission that this (lawyer Karpal Singh’s sedition case) was a proper case for binding over for good behaviour. In law, the court could have imposed a sentence of imprisonment but it had been merciful in meting out a fine.”
