THE Prime Minister’s office spent more than RM349,480 to fly Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to attend the 4th Qatar International Business Women’s Forum last November.
Minister in the PM’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, in a written reply to Loke Siew Fook (DAP - Seremban), said the flight cost comprised two main parts.
“The total flight cost involved RM196,614 for fuel and RM229,875 for navigation cost, airport traffic and ground handling agent,” he said.
Loke had asked for a breakdown of the flight cost for the use of the Government’s executive plane to fly Rosmah to the forum.
On a separate matter, the police are still investigating the case of Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan being punched by teacher Muhammad Ridzuan Suhaimi in January.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Jan 12 case was being investigated as causing hurt under the Penal Code.
“Once completed, the investigation papers will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for advice and further action,” he said in a written reply to Lim Lip Eng (DAP - Segambut).
Regarding the reported reward offer to slap Seputeh MP Teresa Kok over a controversial Chinese New Year video that allegedly made fun of some government policies and personalities, Dr Ahmad Zahid said the demonstrators concerned were investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for making threats and violating the Peaceful Assembly Act.
Investigation papers were completed and submitted to the A-G’s Chambers on Feb 21, he added.
