Sisters kill hubby for taking a new lover

TWO sisters were angered when they found they had married the same man. When he went for a third lover, the sisters murdered him.

Tamil Nesan reported that the women, including the sisters, each thought she was his only wife.

Farmer T. Kanniappan, 45, from Chennai in Tamil Nadu, first married one of the sisters in 1999 and then the other in 2002. He had two children each with his wives.

The paper said that Kanniappan’s wives were angered when they learnt about the marriages. They were even more incensed when they realised their husband was having an affair with a third woman.

The sisters got their two brothers together to demand alimony from Kanniappan. He refused and was allegedly killed by the four people.

> Malaysia Nanban reported that about 70 students from Kashmir were suspended from their university after they reportedly cheered the Pakistani team during the Asia Cup match with India.

Administrators of the privately-run Swami Vivekananda Subharti University said they had to take action after the students cheered and shouted pro-Pakistan slogans, causing a fight with other students.

University registrar RK Garg said the students had committed an “anti-national act” and also vandalised hostel property.
