Inferno: The warehouse going up in flames near the Old Klang road in Kuala Lumpur.
KUALA LUMPUR: A furniture-cum-welding warehouse was gutted in a fire at Taman Seri Sentosa near Old Klang road here.
City Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said 44 firefighters from Hang Tuah, Bukit Jalil and Taman Desa were despatched to the scene upon receiving the distress call at 3am yesterday.
“The first responders arrived at the scene at around 3.20am. We managed to control the flames by 5am,” said Khirudin when contacted.
He added that the fire was completely extinguished by 7.40am.
“It was a large fire. We are relieved that the flames did not spread to a primary school located nearby,” he said.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Khirudin said they were working with the police to identify the source of the fire.
