JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar officially launched the 19th World Kite Festival in Pasit Gudang here on Saturday.
The annual kiting event saw more than 1,000 local and international participants from 40 countries this year.
The event, themed Wind Garden, was not affected by the heat as kite enthusiasts showcased colourful and eye-catching traditional and modern kites that are unique to their respective culture.
The five-day event kicked off on Feb 19 and ends on Sunday.
