KUANTAN: A transport company supervisor was stabbed to death in an apparent car jacking incident at the Gebeng industrial estate.
Md Saipul Mizan Ibrahim, 33, of Balok was found lying on the ground with three stab wounds at about 2.10am on Saturday.
A security guard on duty at a nearby factory spotted the victim and alerted the authorities.
State deputy CID chief Supt Mohd Haris Daud said the victim was covered in blood but still conscious when he was found by the guard who sought assistance to send the victim to a nearby clinic.
"The victim died at about 7am while on the way to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.
"Based on several eye-witnesses account, the victim was said to have dashed out from a parking lot in the wee hours before collapsing on the ground," he said.
Initial investigations showed the victim was stabbed in the face, chest and stomach.
A police team from Beserah found the victim's four-wheel-drive vehicle registered under his company missing together with his wallet and cellphone.
"The case is being classified as murder," Supt Mohd Haris said. No arrests have been made.
Police have not ruled out robbery as a motive and that the victim could have recognised the assailants.
