KUALA LUMPUR: A former director of gold trading company Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd has been slapped with two counts of illegal deposit-taking involving an alleged sum of RM5.5bil.
Ahmad Khairuddin Ilias, 56, claimed trial at the Sessions Court here over a charge of receiving from the public deposits without a licence via a scheme involving gold transactions at CIMB Islamic Bank in Jalan Kuchai Lama here between Jan 10, 2011 and Oct 1, 2012.
