320 honoured on FT Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Ham­sa and former Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin topped the honours list for the 40th Federal Territories Day.

The duo received the Darjah Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah which carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

A total of 320 recipients were awarded titles and medals by the Yang di-Per­­tuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’ad­zam Shah at the Balairong Seri Istana Negara in Jalan Duta yesterday.

Of the number, 17 individuals we­re conferred the Seri Mahkota Wilayah which carries the title Datuk Seri. They include group Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Glomac Bhd, Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar Mohamed Mansor.

Among the other recipients were Parti Bersatu India Malay­sia (MIUP) Preside­­­­nt Datuk Seri S. Nallakar­u­­­ppan and Mal­a­ysian Indian Musl­im Con­gress (KIMMA) President Senator Dat­uk Seri S­yed Ibrahim Kader.

Another 59 people received the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah which carries the title Datuk.

Among those who received this award were Mohd Zin & Group president Datuk Pang Kan Ti, High Court judges Justice Datuk Noor Azian Shaari, Justice Datuk P. Nallini (KL High Court), Justice Datuk Yeoh Wee Siam (KL High Court); Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk M. Saravanan, former Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk A. Kohilan Pillay and the Secretary of MCA disciplinary Committee Datuk Foo Ton Hin; The Future Advancement of Tamil Schools Coordinator under the Pri­me Minister’s Department Datuk Dr N. Rajendran and Kuang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Shukur Idrus.

Another 242 persons received medals under the Johan Mahkota Wilayah (JMW), Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah (KMW), Ahli Mahkota Wilayah (AMW) and Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah (PPW) categories.
