CHINESE guilds and associations will not light firecrackers this Chinese New Year due to safety and environmental reasons, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia president Tan Sri Pheng Yin Huah said its members decided that they would not apply for the permit.
